My personal mission is to help good people bring their aspirations to life and develop our future through the lens of marketing and culture. The “Casual Toast Blog” is my way of sharing my knowledge and my thoughts on topics that I care deeply about with the world in hopes that it can inform others and inspire discussions. The general categories I plan to dive into weekly through this blog cover marketing, economics, environmental sustainability, art, culture, and education. I’m a firm believer in that knowledge should be shared with others because it allows all of us to level up and become more open with each other.

As a self-proclaimed futurist, I tend to explore possibilities of the future that revolve around certain technologies, beliefs, and processes progressing further and having a profound impact on the world around us. This can ultimately lead me down a road with some very imaginative thoughts that are both amazing and terrible, but I’m an optimist. I’m a firm believer in that we as a society can progress forward while placing humanity at the forefront of our decision making. If I have any major impact on the world around me throughout my time, I hope that it is connecting people with each other to explore possibilities, so that we can all navigate to that positive future together.

The format of this blog will be me telling my stories from my experiences and exploring possibilities surrounding them. If I do explore anything further or even reference something I’m aware about, I will do my best to provide supporting sources to explore. One major thing I want to be sure to promote in this blog is the engagement of people in the comments and the acceptance of all opinions. As an individual, I will have my own thoughts on a matter and I expect others to agree or disagree. If that is the case, I fully encourage sharing your thoughts in full because perhaps you are able to share a perspective that others had not thought of before. Ultimately, if people can learn to share their thoughts openly and also acknowledge that other’s opinions are valid and not immediately wrong, we can better accept one another and develop our positive future.
This acceptance and discussion-based approach is representative of the blog name “Casual Toast” as it is intended to provide a casual atmosphere for discussion. The toast aspect comes from both my absolute love of toast and many associations you can make with toast. Bread is often a symbol of peace, life, and salvation and a loaf of raisin bread is often associated with the expansion of the universe. As an individual that studied economics, I also love associating it with the gun vs. butter model which is essentially a model that shows production possibilities. It can even represent innovation because the next thing since sliced bread is quite literally toast. Perhaps, my favorite and the most casual thought about toast though is to just think about all the possibilities of the breads and spreads you can have with toast. I know it’s a lot and they are mostly delicious.
As of creating this blog, I am unemployed and seeking new job opportunities. One of my key practices with this blog will also be to use my marketing skills in promoting this blog and fostering the growth of a community. One large aspect I want to improve upon is my understanding of reading analytics to learn what platforms my viewers are coming from and what viewers and most engaged. This will allow me to get information to more interested people faster and easier.
